Vintage LIONEL ZW 275 Watt Transformer | Tested (all terminals working)This auction is for a vintage Lionel ZW 275 Watt Model Train Transformer.
The committed range of these transformers is 8 - 18 VAC. All terminals (A-D) were tested with output readings up to 24.8 V in whistle mode and 19.86 V to 19.96 V consistently high voltage and a lowest reading of 7.39 V (that's within a +/- 10% range of specifications) with no spikes or drops throughout the regulators range. AMAZING for an at least 60 year old item!
The case and controls are neither cracked or broken, and the scale lettering (red as well as white) are clean and not faded. Great condition for being unrestored! Both lights (green - power / red - overload) work.
Suitable for O gauge trains, may work with HO train sets as well (HO max voltage should not exceed 15 V!). Original undamaged working power cord!

The Lionel ZW is Lionel’s most iconic transformer of the 1950s and 1960s, and perhaps one of its most iconic products, period. Everyone wanted the two-handled, football-shaped, 275-watt powerhouse that was the ZW. It was one of Lionel’s more venerable postwar products, lasting on the market for 18 years from 1948 to 1966.
