    Description

    American Flyer twin power controller 18B. 120 volts, 190 watts. The AC Gilbert Company, New Haven, CT. GUESSING this was made in the 1940s or 1950s.
    Vintage item is in great visual condition. Please note the one light is missing the plastic over the top.
    No rust, top controls work as I'd expect. Electrical cord is not hardened.
    When I plug it in, it makes a low volume buzz or hum. When I flip the toggle switch, the center light illuminates. I put a voltmeter across the two center terminals in back. By adjusting the top controls I got a voltage reading ranging from zero to 15 volts. I have not used this unit and it doesn't appear to have been operated much.
    I'm not familiar with model trains. If you want further testing of this, please let me know what to do, and I can likely report back.
