his listing is for a lightly used Selmer (Paris) S80 C* mouthpiece for alto saxophone. The S80 is widely regarded as one of the best all around mouthpieces for intermediate to advanced level players. This piece is ideally suited for all varieties of 'legit' music, such as concert/symphonic band, orchestra, sax quartet/chamber ensemble, and solo classical performance. It will also work for jazz and contemporary styles in a pinch. The C* facing is the most popular. It is more open at the tip than a typical 'stock' or student level mouthpiece, but not so much so as to be difficult to control.
This one is in excellent used condition.
The tip, table, and rails are perfectly smooth, and there are no tooth indentations on the beak. It has had a detailed cleaning to remove calcification, and has been sanitized. The logo and other markings are very clear. It shows only the slightest of fading/discoloration of the hard rubber, and only one very minor ligature scratch on the exterior.
These sell for around 0 for a brand new one on ebay, and the cost at a brick and mortar music store is much higher. This is a great chance to get a high quality, as good as new Selmer mouthpiece at a significant savings compared to the cost of a brand new one!
