    Description

    Here is one of those classic "Spam can" style AC powered Marx toy train  transformers that they used in so many train sets in the thirties and forties.  This is a #709 model, 110-120 volts, 60 cycles, 50 watts.  Has binding posts for a single set of wires.  Red handle and black painted stamped steel case.  I bench tested this one, and it works fine.  The cord is ORIGINAL, but it is starting to get stiff, so if you are looking to RUN trains with this, I would strongly advise replacing the cord.  If you want an all original and working transformer to fill that hole in a Marx train set box, this would work fine as is.  Photos from many angles, with a penny in most shots for size reference.  This was made to run Marx O gauge AC powered electric trains, but would also run Lionel, American Flyer, basically any of the AC powered toy trains.  Priced to sell, with only actual shipping cost on the nearly 3 pound package charged to the winner!
