Lionel Z250 Trainmaster Transformer. This big heavy duty transformer has been cleaned, sanitized completely serviced and test operated. The type Z was the precursor to the Postwar ZW Transformers . It exceeds the output power of the ZW, with a maximum voltage output of 25 volts at all four output terminals. The Drawbacks to these units are the lack of whistle and direction controls as found on the ZW Transformers . This unit has 4 new carbon rollers , new bulbs, we’ve performed a resistance test to both coil windings and the results were within acceptable parameters. As depicted in the photos, all 4 output terminals graduate to 25 volts . The power cord is in excellent condition and tested good.This particular transformer is the postwar version of the Z with the knurled shafts and push-on control knobs.
