Artisanal Guiro Percussion Instrument 12-13” with Pua from Puerto Rico

Guiro made from a gourd by Puerto Rico craftsman has notches all around the gourd. Auction includes pua scraper made of wood and stainless steel rods. This Guiro produces a fine quality sound original to Puerto Rico and it's typical Christmas music and parrandas.
Guiro measures approximately 12”-13” long and tapers 2.5”-3” wide.
A guiro is a percussion musical  instrument made of a hollow gourd with parallel notches cut in one side, and played by rubbing a stick or scraper ("pua") along the notches to produce a ratchet-like sound.
